Registration Information

Each accepted paper must be accompanied by ONE registration. An author of multiple papers can use the same form. An author presenting a conference and workshop paper should pay both conference and workshop registration fees. The early rate is valid before camera-ready days. The late rate is valid after camera-ready days and before on-sites. After that, onsite rate applies

Member and Student Rates

To qualify for member rates, you must be a member of ACM, ACM SIGIR, ACM SIGWEB. You will need a valid ACM/SIG Id to qualify for ACM member rates. Students will need a valid Full-time Student Id with current registration marked clearly or a letter from their department head certifying student status. The documents must be uploaded during registration.

Terms of Payment

All fees should be paid in advance in US dollars, using credit card (AMEX, Mastercard, or Visa). Full payment must be included with registration. Partial payments and purchase orders for future payment will not be accepted.

Wire transfers are permitted. Wire transfer instructions are provided on the checkout and confirmation pages during the registration process. It could also be retrieved through a link in the confirmation email. If paying by wire transfer, your registration will be regarded as incomplete until we have received full payment of your outstanding registration fees.

Terms of Cancellation

Requests for registration cancellation must be made in writing and mailed to the following address:

All refunds will be processed and mailed following the CIKM 2012 Conference dates. Refunds will be made in accordance with the following schedule:

  • Cancellations received on or before August 31, 2012, will receive a full refund minus a $100 processing fee
  • Cancellations received from August 31st, 2012 through September 20th, 2012 will receive a 50% refund minus a $100 processing fee
  • No refunds will be made for requests received after September 20th, 2012
  • No refund for authors of accepted papers will be honored in any case

Partial Registration Fee Refunds

Partial refunds in registration fees resulting from registration changes (e.g., changing from non-member to member) will be charged a processing fee of $30 plus a service charge of 4% of the refund amount.

Visa Support Letter

The association does not issue formal invitation letters for visas. We can however issue a visa support letter.

  • For visa support letters, please send all requests to with the following information.

  • Those requesting a letter should allow up to one week to receive it, as requests are handled in the order they are received. The information below should be included with the request

  • Name (as it appears on your passport) and mailing address.
  • The name of the conference you wish to attend.
  • Include your registration confirmation number
  • If you are the author of any papers accepted for the conference, please provide the title. If you are a speaker, please provide the title/topic of your speech.
  • Include a fax number or email address of where we can send the letter.
