Thank you for your response to our SCMOS standard cell questionnaire.
Your information will be useful in determining future directions in our
library development.

AuE Scalable CMOS (SCMOS) Libraries
-----------------------------------
AuE has completed a new release of its SCMOS Standard Cell and IO
SCMOS Cell Libraries. The new release, dlmV3.0, is an updated version
of the previous release dlmV2.3. The new AuE SCMOS IO Cell libraries,
AuEPads2.0, AuEPads1.2, and AuEPads0.8, are updated versions of AuE's
previous IO library (collectively known as itdpads1.0) containing new
IO cells designed at feature sizes of 2um, 1.2um, and 0.8um. Also
available are the itdpads1.0, consisting of 1.6, 2, and 3-micron IO cells.

dlmV3.0
-------
o 104 unique functions (68 leaf cells and 36 macro cells).
o All leaf cells are 78 lambda high with 20 lambda high power rails (58 lambda
high with 10 lambda high power rails). A "C" program is distributed with the
library that automatically sizes the power rails.
o All leaf cells were designed using the MOSIS Rev7 SCMOS design rules
with minor rule modifications for submicron scalability (scalable from
  0.8 to 3-microns).
o Macro cells are currently accessible only through the LagerIV tool
set, but may be ported to different design environments by AuE upon
  request.
  Functions include:
        Counters Decoders
        16X Buffer Multiplexors
        2-Phase Clock Generator
        Scan D-FFs N-bit Comparator
        Shift Registers 2-Phase D Flip-Flops
        Zero Detect

AuEPads
-----------------
o 25 unique cells in each technology size (2um, 1.2um, and 0.8um).
o Abide by MOSIS Rev7 SCMOS design rules.
o Functions include:
        slew rate controlled output pads
        impedance matched output pads
        clock driver input pads
both inverting and non-inverting input pads
        tri-state input/output pad
        TTL to CMOS input pad
        CMOS to TTL output pad
        4mA, 8mA, and 16mA output pads
        schmitt trigger input pad

Distribution
------------
The AuE SCMOS libraries may be obtained via FTP or cartridge tape.
Library distributions via FTP are in compressed tar format and include
data books (in post-script and Frame formats) containing schematic and
delay information. NO DISTRIBUTION CHARGE.

Distributions shipped on cartridge tape are in tar format. Bound
Library data books are shipped with the tape. DISTRIBUTION CHARGE:
$150 for one library, $250 for all libraries.

NOTE: Orders must be accompanied by a signed licensing agreement. For
more information, contact AuE (email: cells@aue.com).

Purchase orders cannot be accepted. For distributions on tape, please
send a check payable to Advanced Microelectronics.

I have forwarded your request to our secretary. She should have it out
to you today via U.S. mail. Right now, we only have the dlmV3.0
library and AuEPads1.2 completed. We plan to have the AuEPads0.8 and
AuEPads2.0 libraries completed by end of September. We're also working
on adding 2um delay information to the dlmV3.0 databook. Right now it
only contains 1.2um information. We'll send you email when this work
is completed so that you can ftp it over to your site. We currently
have ready to release the existing dlmV3.0 library and databook, the
AuEPads1.2, and the old itdpads1.0 (3um, 2um, and 1.6um IO libraries).

Joseph,

Forgot to mention that the 0.8um library (and soon the 1.2um library)
has a new ndiffusion layer (used in thick field devices) in it that
requires users to have our version of Magic running our technology
file. We also release magic with a signed software license agreement.
Would you be interested it that.

Dave

Joe,

We've made some improvements to the magic6.3. We have added a very
good HSpice extractor, added BJT capability to the spice extractor, a
Mentor Graphics/SDD GDT Lsim netlist extractor, fixed some memory
management problems, added some rules to the ext styles (magic
previously didn't properly extract some capacitences), and have
rewritten the drc section to properly check the MOSIS rules.
We are currently making some changes to the cif read/write sections of
the technology file. Right now, you cannot write and read cif for the
IOs due to the way magic bloats the well from the diffusion. If
several cif write/reads occur, vdd will short to gnd via the nwell.
When our latest mods to the tech file are finished, this won't happen.

Dave

Joe,

The SCMOS libraries are now ready to be released. I'm sorry
it's taken so long for us to complete them. To ftp the libraries,
ftp to corona.aue.com (192.136.108.19). Log in as "anonymous" and
use your email address as the passwd. Change directory to
pub/mdu. There is a README file there that describes what
is what. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate
to contact me. I will leave the read permissions set until
9am CST on 8 October, 1992. Let me know if that is not enough
time for you to transfer the files.

Sincerly,

Dave
