AAI Performance Hosts - Peak Throughput Evaluation Experiments


We have performed several experiments to evaluate the peak throughput performance of DEC AXP-3000/700 workstations. These machines are being deployed in the AAI testbed network for wide area network (WAN) experimentation. These initial experiments were performed in the TISL laboratory in order to better understand the performance envelope of these machines and provide a baseline for the WAN experiments.

Several configurations were studied:

In each case, the performance was evaluated for various combinations of TCP window size, TCP/IP MTU size, and application buffer size.
