Welcome!
Welcome to the home page of
Rapidly Deployable
Radio Network,
also known as RDRN among our group.
We at the
Information and Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC) of the
University of Kansas invite you to take
a tour of the home page.
The RDRN project involves the design and implementation of a reconfigurable ATM
wireless network which is envisioned to use antenna beam-forming for spatial reuse of
frequencies. The emphasis is on rapid deployment of the network, which is very
important to the military, as well as for emergency use during natural disasters
when terrestrial communication infrastructure is destroyed by tornadoes, earthquakes,
etc.
This project is funded by the Information
Technology Office (ITO) of the
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA),
and is associated with the DARPA
Global Mobile Information Systems (GloMo) initiative.
