The underlying Reiterative Minimum Mean-Square Error (RMMSE) approach, previously developed by Blunt and Gerlach at the Naval Research Laboratory, has demonstrated evidence of remarkable flexibility. RMMSE is expected to yield significant performance benefit for numerous applications, including multi-user communications in the presence of significant multipath' effects and advances in the extraction of simultaneously received multistatic radar signals. Furthermore, in conjunction with RMMSE estimation, other aspects of pulse compression enabled by adaptive processing will be addressed. In particular, the estimation and subsequent compensation for waveform phase and amplitude jitter will be addressed in order to mitigate errors that are introduced by high-power components in the radar transmitter.
