Daniel Fokum is a PhD candidate in Computer Science in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kansas and a graduate research assistant with the Information and Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC). He received his M.S. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2005, and his B.A. degree from Park University in 2000, both in Computer Science. Prior to joining ITTC, he worked for five years at Truman Medical Centers, where he was involved in retrieving data from hospital databases.

Daniel's research interests include Quality of Service, mobile ad hoc networks, sensor networks and routing. He is also interested in concurrency control and recovery in databases. Daniel is a student member of the IEEE, IEEE Communication Society, IEEE Computer Society and the ACM.
