ITTC Project

Adaptive Distributed Radio Open-source Intelligent Network (ADROIT)

Project Award Date: 10-01-2005

Description

ITTC will work as a subcontractor for BBN Technologies. The Center will provide 10 Agile Radios, a software defined radio, for use in developing and demonstrating capabilities needed for the DARPA project. The subcontractor will design, prototype, and implement a radio frequency module for the Agile Radio to transmit and receive signals in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. Additional adjacent RF frequencies may be included. Researchers will define and quantify a set of war fighting, Mission-Oriented Communications Properties necessary to specify a radio communications system for military personnel. ITTC will (a) develop a language to describe software defined radios and (b) develop a library of Radio Components for the Agile Radio. This task will involve design, implementation, testing, and evaluation of software radio components.
