Cooperative Diversity Routing Techniques for Hybrid Fiber-Wireless Networks

The objective of this research is to devise and implement cooperative diversity routing techniques for hybrid fiber-wireless networks (HFWNs) deployed in a metropolitan scenario. By employing cooperative diversity in an HFWN, the error robustness of a wireless communications path within the network can be significantly enhanced, as well as the user capacity of the network. Evaluation of this technique within the context of an HFWN will be performed using the ns-2 simulation package.
