Mobile Wireless Technology and the Impacts on Future Internet

Project Award Date: 09-15-2006

Description

By building on the complimentary strengths of America and Scandinavia, it will be possible to ensure that the future Internet architecture will be designed to align with advances in wireless technology. The envisioned collaboration will enable both communities to accelerate and expand wireless networking and future Internet architectural research.

A novel approach will be taken in order to investigate innovations in wireless technology being made in Scandinavian institutions, as well as allow for consensus building. This five-day event will involve a mixture of workshops and visits to organizations throughout Scandinavia.

Scandinavia is an established world leader in wireless technology, both in academia and industry. Several Scandinavian research organizations provide leadership in a range of wireless technologies ranging from cutting-edge cellular networks to personal area data networks. .

The US wireless networking research community can benefit significantly from interaction and collaboration with the Scandinavian wireless community.
